THE NOVICE WRITER

My first reaction was that this was a big mistake. I sat down and nervously took a spot at the far end of the two folding tables set up in the middle of the room. I felt that familiar lump of anguish as my muscles tightened in a hold around my throat. Why was I sitting here, scared to death, in this writing class?
