The Wickford Art Association is looking for poets who may be interested in submitting original poems inspired by artwork for the annual “Poetry & Art” contest/event.

Submissions open in early April and will close on May 10th, 2014. Of the poems submitted, 40 will be chosen to appear in a book published by the WAA. On July 25th, there will be an opening reception at the WAA, during which poets will meet with the artists for the first time and celebrate the powerful results of their collaboration (hopefully those who submit and are selected will be able to attend!).

The “Poetry & Art” event in the past has proven to be a great way to showcase local art and encourage a community of artists in nearby towns and cities (and states!). We’re hoping that this year’s event will be just as rewarding as the last…
