Summary: Plans and manages all curriculum and program development. Manages rotating teaching staff. Identifies areas of need in local writing communities and imagines/develops programs to meet those needs. Develops Frequency’s community presence and relationships. Serves as main grant-writer. With Volunteer Operations Director, and in partnership with the board, creates and manages fundraising activities.
As this position is volunteer, board members delegate responsibility to the Volunteer Artistic Director. Traditionally, a small stipend has been awarded by the board, quarterly. Work is done remotely, with 1-2 in-person staff meetings per month, and occasional events. Work time averages 6-10 hours per week.
The ideal candidate will be local to Providence, RI, have a passion for writing and community education, and be comfortable planning and hosting events and working with people of all ages and identities.
